Eighty20 Publishing · Sarasota, Florida
Business books by people who run businesses.
A small press for operators. We publish nonfiction by leaders who have done the work — built to one house standard, and launched with an engine behind it.
The shelf
One livery. Every title in agreement.
Four operating books, each with a Field Guide, then the four-book series. The first titles ship in order as each one clears the gate.
What we bring to market
A book is a product. We build it like one.
01
The standard
Every title is built to the same house standard: 6 × 9 trim, a black interior set for reading, an index, the figures listed at the back, front matter in agreement across the shelf. The book teaches. The Field Guide — a companion workbook with every instrument — does.
02
The engine
A book does not sell because it exists. Ours ship with the launch engine already running: an advance-reader list, Amazon advertising built to a playbook, a ten-episode podcast season, a webinar, the bulk-order path for boards and portfolio companies, and the book's own web page.
03
The distribution
Paperback, hardcover, ebook and audio. Print-on-demand worldwide through Amazon and IngramSpark, so the book is never out of stock and never sitting in a garage. ISBNs from the imprint's block. Library of Congress and copyright filed before the first sale.
Who we publish
Operators, not commentators.
We publish business nonfiction by people who have run something — a company, a division, a P&L — and have results to show for it. CEOs and owners of middle-market companies. Operating partners. Functional leaders with a method that worked in a real building, on a real Monday.
We are not looking for a memoir with a lesson at the end. We are looking for a method, the numbers behind it, and a reader who is going to use it: an owner, a CEO, an operator, a board.
We publish a few titles a year. The ones we publish, we finish.

The house
Built the way we build companies.
Eighty20 Publishing was started by Bill Canady — Chairman and CEO of Arrowhead Engineered Products, founder of The 80/20 Institute, and the author of several bestselling business books with trade houses — to publish his own operating shelf to a standard the trade would not hold to: one livery, one method, every book built to be used.
The imprint now takes a handful of outside authors a year on the same terms. Sarasota, Florida.
"Complexity kills performance. Clarity drives profit."Bill Canady
A book that cannot be used on a Monday is complexity with a spine. We do not publish those.
